First and foremost, my main objective is leaving the world better than I found it. Ever since I was a kid, I was determined on becoming someone that makes an impact for the betterment of their community. Whether that was an aspiration of becoming a firefighter, FBI agent, or attorney, I was always motivated to help people, somehow or someway.
After suffering and enduring through a shoulder injury that crushed my dream of continuing my baseball career, I knew this goal would have to come to fruition sooner, rather than later. About a year after I hung up the cleats, Empathy Clothing started to finally materialize. I actually remember that moment perfectly, it was in the somber confines of a college English class, where the question, "What would you do to change campus?" was asked. This question seemed to bounce off the heads of my fellow classmates like a basketball hitting the gym floor, while something about this question lit a sort of fire inside me. I went on to think big picture, not campus, the world! How could I help change the world?
This question consumed my mind for a long time. I was constantly trying to come up with something that was meaningful that paralleled what I stand for, and I was also desperate to release the creative energy that laid dormant for years inside my psyche. Like I mentioned, I just want to make a difference, provide a tiny bit of positivity in a world that thrives on the doom and gloom. So, I started a clothing brand. Actually, a lifestyle brand, that aims to bring awareness to the endless issues in society, with a focus on mental health and human rights violations, all with my own personal innovative spin.
It is my goal that Empathy Clothing will inspire you to be a light on a planet that seems darker each day, to be a harbinger of goodness who helps humanity evolve past our differences instead of being a player who seeks to slow it down. This is how we truly change the world, we must oust the shadows and replace them with something bright and beautiful, which could be you.
